Summer art workshops @ISIP


The Institute for Steiner’s Ideas in Practice (ISIP) Philippines is excited to present its summer art workshops! Fun and yet meaningful, there’s something for everyone of all ages (in Music, Writing, Acting):



Music

Harmony, Rhythm and Pitch (HARP) for Kids – for boys and girls, 8 to 12 years old. A 10-day fun and interactive workshop where participants will be able to

· understand the understand the rudiments of music;

· sing and play instruments in a group, and

· appreciate classical music through singing and listening selected program music.

From May 11 to 15, 18 to 22. P5,000 per participant, all materials included. 9am to 12nn. Facilitated by Nicole Anne Asis, designed by Joy Romualdez-Kawpeng and Nicole Anne Asis.



Pagpipintig: Pag-uugat ng Sarili sa Katutubong Tunog at Galaw – for 15 years old and up. A half-day workshop on appreciating and learning to play indigenous musical instruments from among different ethno-linguistic groups.. May 21, P750. Facilitated by Sanghabi, a nonprofit whose mission is to educate Filipinos and foreigners alike of the diversity and richness of Filipino culture.



Group Guitar lessons – 10 to 16 years old, May 11 to 15, 18 to 22, P3,500 for 10 one-hour sessions. 1pm to 2pm.

One-on-One Piano lessons – 11 years old up. P5,000 for 10 one-hour lessons. Tuesdays and Fridays.



Writing

The Write Way – for teens. A holistic 10-day creative writing program designed to help adolescents discover and develop their own unique writers’ voices. It’s a fun, creative and empowering experience for the young writer. Sessions include

writing poetry, short stories and creative non-fiction
exploration of the wonders of words through sound/music, visual arts
field trips and on-site writing (ex. A trip to the mall—yes, there’s poetry in the mall!)
From May 11 to 15, 18 to 22. P5,000 per participant, all materials included. 9am to 12nn. Facilitated and designed by Tintin Ongpin-Montes, a freelance writer and upper school teacher at the Manila Waldorf School . Guest writers will give talks on the writing process.



Acting

Living your Dreams through Drama – for adults 18 years and above. Five evenings of fun, creative expression and self-knowledge. Drama, the art that uses the human being as its instrument, is the perfect way to explore our unknown and unused inner potential.



The workshop uses the techniques of Michael Chekhov, based on the healthy use of the imagination. One doesn't become another character - one is aware all the time of being an actor and creating in believable ways the being of another.

From May 11 to 15, P4,500 per participant, light snack included. 6pm to 9pm. Facilitated and designed by Michael Burton, speech and drama teacher and playwright from New Zealand .
