Dance Therapy Conference

Greetings! The Philippine Dance Therapy Association invites you to attend the:

Body Talk: Dance Therapy Conference
"Express, Listen and Understand Your Body
Through Movement and Dance"

About DMT and the Conference:

Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) is the psychotherapeutic use of movement as a process which furthers emotional, social, cognitive and physical integration of the individual (ADTA, 1999). It is part of the creative arts therapy program which emerged as a distinct profession in the 1940s in the US.

Dance Movement Therapy is used in enhancing guidance and health promotion programsin schools as well as an effective treatment for people with developmental, medical social, physical and psychological impairments (autism, trauma from sexual abuse, cancer survivors, Parkinsons, Alzheimers, ADHD, depression, etc.) in the US, UK, Australia, Japan among other countries.

The Body Talk: Dance Therapy Conference is recognized by the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) which is the official organization dedicated to the growth and enhancement of the profession of dance/movement therapy in the US. ADTA approved Continuing Education workshops are approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) in the US.

The conference is open to all who are interested in the potential of dance/movement as a healing art. Dance enthusiasts, professionals from various fields: humanities, psychology, human kinetics, counseling etc. could benefit from attending the conference since it aims to provide us an understanding of dance/movement therapy as a profession and to enrich the participants' professional lives.

Experiential structures will be provided to demonstrate the expressive body-mind, promote self-awareness and adaptability on kinesthetic level. It will also introduce the multi-roles of the therapist and demonstrate ethical & professional practice; and to answer to questions that relate to clinical issues and the populations the participants might be working with.

All activities will be based on dance/movement therapy concepts that will be explained during the process. Furthermore films will be shown to help participants see how DMT can be used for various populations and help enable connecting the experience with actual practice.

Birthday Celebrators

Are you aware that the correct way of calling the person celebrating his /her birthday is not "birthday celebrant" but as the "birthday celebrator"?
It was hard for me to celebrate JamJam's 3rd birthday after me and him got into a MILD BURN in our lower extremities.
Now that Kuya JamJam is celebrating his 3rd birthday, pasta, cake, ice cream and barbeque suffices.
And we would rather accept BURN OINTMENT as gifts.
We buy our Silver Sulfadiazine at the Generics Pharmacy and it really is cheaper than leading drugstores.
Mind you,a tube of 25mg is just around Php200 while others sell Flamazine 10mg at Php235.
Oh well,Still,Happy Birthday JamJAm!

Eraserheads Medley vs the National Anthem and other lullabyes

What are your song choices which will make your kids fall asleep?
Funny but now that I am a full time mom ,all gearing up for this summer,me and the 3 kids,or shall I say,3 "kuyas" sing the following lullabyes for baby Johannes:

1.Alapaap
with the line "Masdan mo aking mata" intro to be sung 5x the way Ely sung it at the Final Set.I'm just scared that the "other" experience in the song is too subliminal for the kids.
May they not fall doing ilegal things :>

2.Ligaya
as the name in the title says-Joy.
It also teaches the joy how to love simply.
And true,Kuya Jamjam (3rd) is madly in love with Icarly.com lead star Miranda Cosgrove!

3.Toyang
We all love the line that's real to us
"Bahay namin maliit lamang
Pero pero pero malinis 'to pati sa kusina"

4.Ang Huling El Bimbo
that's the ultimate song to give them nightmares too
because they saw the video by Auraeus Solito way back with his Palaw-an Theater Actress,(sorry I can not recall her name) rising from dried leaves to dance, you guess it right! the Huling El Bimbo!

So bid farewall to the Martin National Anthem Rendition Issue...
Oh by the way,for the past two nights,we sang the Philippine National Anthem and they now are singing it comically, the way they heard it from that Pacuiqao-Hatton fight.Oh my Oh my!
Now I know the reason we should never ever veer away from the accepted version.
See the result of one's doing,KIDS WOULD FOLLOW!so respect the R.A. 8491 ,okay?!

Aside from these,Kuya 1 and Kuya 2 are in tears, sleeping with heavy hearts to John Denver's "Leaving on A Jetplane"-separation anxiety here we come.

Mother's Day is Sunday!

While children and fathers are scrambling to paint a piece of pottery and buy the right card before the day arrives, drop them one of these cheap and affordable hints! Instead of treating you to a swanky spa day, tell them the lady of the house would appreciate a festivity that doesn't involve breaking the bank. Or pamper your own mother with one of these activities:

  •     Picked flowers only last so long. Forgo a trip to the florist and take mom to the botanical gardens where the entire family can enjoy the brilliant blossoms.
  •     Rather than taking mom out to the movies, rent her favorite classic flick and stock up on her candy cravings. When the kids are sent to bed, she can relax in pure peace and pleasure.
  •     Who needs a five-star hotel when camping is an option? Pack up the tent, campfire tools and a satchel for a night in the wilderness. Spoil her with s'mores and hot chocolate while soaking up all that nature has to offer.
  •     If it ain't broke don't fix it. Mama always appreciates being served breakfast in bed by her loved ones.
  •     Ditch the pricey country club brunch and pack a picnic with the kids for a jaunt to the local park.
  •     Kids love to paint! Soak mommy's toes and hands in warm bubbles and allow the rascals to color her toes and fingers. It won't be perfection, but it will be adoration.
  •     Check the local outdoor venues to see if there is a free symphony or opera in the park.
  •     Take her out to the ballgame! Sporty mamas will love a family day with her boys of Spring.

YouTube helps man deliver baby

Marc Stephens watched the videos as a precaution when his wife Jo started to feel some discomfort.

Four hours later, his wife went into labour and started giving birth before an ambulance could arrive at their home in Redruth.

"I Googled how to deliver a baby, watched a few videos and basically swotted up," Mr Stephens told the BBC.

Jo Stephens said they had planned a home birth, but not quite in this manner.

"I woke up and realised I was having contractions every five minutes," Mrs Stephens said.

"I woke Marc up and we phoned the midwife, but they were all so busy they couldn't come round to our house and told us to call an ambulance. But before it arrived, it all started."

Lupang Hinirang ni Martin

When Martin was chosen by Manny Pacquiao's camp to sing the Philippine National Anthem,it was said to be a "smallrole" but it turned big indeed 1
Was he to sing it or perform it his own way?
When an artit is tasked to sing the Lupang Hinirang, one must remember, the essence of the song is not just for a performance,it is "The National Anthem"-the country.
I am a purist and conservative to this issue.
WHen I heard Martin's singing at the Pacquiao Hatton fight in youtube yesterday(which I did not fully watched over the tv because i boycotted commercials) it's still with the "marcha" rythym-okay pa
But the background music was synthesized and lots of bass was its musical arrangement and I dear say,it's way way off!
Even the visuals using the Philippine Airlines was too commercialist.
Can't they just edit and add National Tourists spots aside from the tycon's airline business?
Then came the ending..."Ang mamatay ng dahil...sa yo"-was Martin on the right pitch?
My god,I couldn't take it.Kaya pala nakakakilabot daw.I felt embarassed!
I told my 9 year old son, that's not the way its being sung hijo.
Then me and my husband argued about it but a seal was shown.
A seal???
Yup ni approved the singing afterall, san ka pa?
But just today ,according to the National Historical Institute Teddy Atienza,THEY WERE NOT CONSULTED AND THAT THEY NEVER APPROVED of Martin's rendition.
So where did the seal, the one shown after the youtube flick and TV telecast came from?
Whose National Historical Institute approval was that?
True,to lessen the guilt just make a public apology.

NATURAL CANCER KILLER:Guyabano

10,000 TIMES STRONGER THAN CHEMO AND MORE...
How many people died in vain while this
billion-dollar drug maker concealed the secret of the miraculous
Graviola tree? If there ever was a single example that makes it
dramatically clear why
the existence of Health Sciences Institute is
so vital to Americans like you, it's the incredible story behind the
Graviola tree.

The truth is stunningly simple:
Deep within the Amazon Rainforest grows a
tree that could literally revolutionize what you,
your doctor, and the
rest of the world thinks about cancer treatment and chances of survival.
The future has never looked more promising.

Research shows that with extracts from this miraculous tree it now may be
possible to:
- Attack cancer safely and effectively with an
all-natural therapy that does not cause extreme nausea, weight loss and
hair loss.
- Protect your immune system and avoid deadly infections.
- Feel stronger and healthier throughout the course of the treatment.
- Boost your energy and improve your outlook on life.

The
source of this information is just as stunning: It comes from one of
America 's largest drug manufacturers, the fruit of over 20 laboratory
tests conducted since the 1970's!
What those tests revealed was nothing short of mind numbing.
Extracts from the tree were shown to:
- Effectively target and kill malignant cells in 12 types of
cancer,
including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreatic cancer.
- The tree compounds proved to be up to 10,000
times stronger in slowing the growth of cancer cells than Adriamycin, a
commonly used chemotherapeutic drug!
- What's more, unlike chemotherapy, the compound
extracted from the Graviola tree selectively hunts down and kills only
cancer cells... It does not harm healthy cells!
The amazing anti-cancer properties of the
Graviola tree have been extensively researched-- so why haven't you
heard anything about it?
If Graviola extract is as half as promising as it
appears to be -- why doesn't every single oncologist at every major
hospital insist on using it on all his or her patients?

The
spine-chilling answer illustrates just how easily our health and for
many, our very lives, are controlled by money and power.

Graviola: the plant that worked too well
One of
America 's biggest billion-dollar drug
makers began a search for a cancer cure and their research centered on
Graviola, a legendary healing tree from the Amazon Rainforest.

Various
parts of the Graviola tree, including the bark, leaves, roots, fruit
and fruit-seeds have been used for centuries by medicine men and native
Indians in South America to treat heart disease, asthma, liver problems
and arthritis.
Going on very little documented scientific
evidence, the company poured money and resources into testing the
tree's anti-cancerous properties and were shocked
by the results. Graviola proved itself to be a cancer-killing dynamo.

But that's where the Graviola story nearly ended.

The
company had one huge problem with the Graviola tree - it's
completely natural, and so, under federal law, not patentable. There's
no way to make serious profits from it.
It
turns out the drug company invested nearly seven years trying to synthesize
two of the Graviola tree's most powerful
anti-cancer
ingredients. If they could isolate and produce man-made clones of what
makes the Graviola so potent, they'd be able to patent it and make
their money back.
Alas, they hit a brick wall. The original simply could not be replicated. There
was no way the company could protect its
profits or even make back the millions it poured into research.

As
the dream of huge profits evaporated, their testing on Graviola came to
a screeching halt. Even worse, the company shelved the entire project
and chose not to publish the findings of its research!

Luckily, however, there was one scientist from
the Graviola research team whose conscience wouldn't let him see such
atrocity committed.
Risking his career, he contacted a company that's dedicated to
harvesting medical plants from the
Amazon Rainforest and blew the whistle.

Miracle unleashed
When researchers at the Health Sciences Institute were alerted to
the news of Graviola, they began tracking the research done on the
cancer-killing tree.
Evidence of the astounding effectiveness of
Graviola and its shocking cover-up came in fast and
furious.

1) The National Cancer Institute performed the first scientific
research
in 1976. The results showed that Graviola's "leaves and stems were
found effective in attacking and destroying malignant cells."

5) A study at Purdue University recently found
that leaves from the Graviola tree killed cancer cells among six human
cell lines and were especially effective against prostate, pancreatic
and lung cancers.

Seven years of silence broken - it's finally here!
A limited supply of Graviola extract, grown and harvested by
indigenous people
in Brazil, is finally available in America.

The full Graviola story, including where you can
get it and how to use it, is included in "Beyond Chemotherapy: New
Cancer Killers, Safe as Mother's Milk", a Health Sciences Institute
FREE special bonus report on natural substances that will effectively
revolutionize the fight against cancer.
