In celebration of the 18 May International Museum Day, with its theme Museums and Tourism, the UP Vargas Museum will hold its annual Summer Workshop for Junior Museum Guides for the fifth time. Dubbed as the JMG5, the workshop is open to kids aged 10-14 years old and will run from 5-8 and 12-15 May 2009 (Tuesday to Friday), 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Participants will be introduced to basic museum activities such as guiding museum visitors, preparing, and mounting exhibitions. The course also includes basic workshops on drawing, pottery and printmaking to provide our young participants experience on actual art production. The graduation and culminating activity will be held on 17 May 2009.
Registration fee is PhP 3,000 including workshop kits, materials, merienda, badges and certificates. Deadline of registration is on or before May 2, 2009.
