Kasa Boix

I received an invitation to do some events for Kasa Boix. But before that, I was also asked to help its almost 3rd wave Clean-Up today. Even if my bunso and I are both not feeling well , di ko matiis silipin siya, and so we paid the Kasa a visit just in time for its unveiling tomorrow, Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the Kasa Boix, 416 A. Bautista St. (formerly Barbosa), Quiapo, Manila.

The team behind Boix House Redux, Kapitbahayan sa Kalye Bautista are proud to present “KASA BOIX: Ang Munting Pasinaya” (Boix House: The Mini Inaugural)

As an open house event, we will fill it with music, huntahan and storytelling about the Boix House. Little research has been made about it but it was known to be the formerly Teotico-Crespo century-old heritage mansion , with elegant structure of Neo-Renaissance floral motifs , built by Spanish-French aristocrats and was eventually inherited by the Jesuits which today, has become a crowded home, dilapidated interiors , apartment-cum-boarding-house. Together, we are all proud of cleaning it up, bringing back it pristine beauty, elegance, his-tory and LIFE!

We hope that this kick-off celebration will ignite the restoration to happen soon.

Takits!

Pasinaya 2014

Why did they coined this year's Pasinaya as "goes the extra mile"?

For 10 years now, Pasinaya 2014 will start as early as 7:30 am and will, strategically, create CCP Grounds and Pasay as creative venues. CCP also partnered with Metropolitan Museum of Manila, National Museum, Bahay Tsinoy, Casa Manila, Museo Pambata, 1335 Mabini and Jeepney Tours and its artful jeepneys.

This year's equation ( which expects to surpass the 50,000 spectators last year) engaged 3,000 artists, 300 institution-based, community-based and school-based artistic groups = 2014 CCP Pasinaya!

There is also a donation scheme called “Pay what you can, See all you can” for the open house and a feel of CCP resident companies' Performance Season namely Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, the UST Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Philippines, Philippine Ballet Theater, Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group, Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company, National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA), Philippine Madrigal Singers and Tanghalang Pilipino.

And the best thing about Pasinaya 2014 is this TICKET INFORMATION:

1. Regular Pasinaya Wristband (Pay what you can, See all you can): Php 50.00 suggested donation
- regular lane access

2. Fast pass (special) Ballers: Php 300.00
- special lane access to all CCP venues

3. VIP Box (contains 6 seats at the Main Theater): Php 3,000.00
- designated, reserved box for 6 pax at the CCP Main Theater
- special lane access to the CCP Main Theater (Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo), CCP Little Theater (Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino) and CCP Studio Theater (Tanghalang Huseng Batute)

* INFORMATION MAY CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.

Indeed, they will make our Sunday, March 16 2014 a great 7am - 7pm art experience and my youngest's own Manila art debut, inaguration, initiation= P.A.S.I.N.A.Y.A.!

For details, please visit http://culturalcenter.gov.ph/single-tickets/view-event/?id=98464209 or pre-register at http://pasinaya.culturalcenter.gov.ph/registration.php before on-line registration closes tomorrow, March 15 2014 at 1800hr.

Pre-register now. My son and I are on the 850th!

Happy Totes at Saturday Future Market

When you buy their art, their happy thoughts and product, it's like having a little part of them, a little piece of their passion and story. Isn't that true, Happy Totes? You have gone a long way since. And I'm proud of your creators.

I hope to see you too at the Saturday Future Market in Escolta. Good vibes!

Igal 2014

At the last leg of the UP Diliman Arts Month, Bunga Arts Link , UP Asian Center, UPD-OICA, Social Technology Bureau-DSWD and Japan Foundation, with its series of Sama-Bajau Dance and Music Workshop, gives us another great opportunity to learn the traditional Igal and how to play the Kulintangan music for this year's celebration.

Bunso and I were not able to attend the DANCE WORKSHOP held on February 15, 22 and March 01 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the ASEAN Hall, Asian Center, UP Diliman nor the first Music Workshop this February 16 but tomorrow, March 02 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon, mother and son will be at the Galleria 1, Faculty Center, UP Diliman.

And we hope to watch Bunga Arts Link, Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino, and other dance groups perform their interpretation of Igal and its music on March 5, 2014, 7:00pm , at the Asian Center Auditorium, University of the Philippines.

For tickets to the show on Wednesday , please PM at their FB page, email at bunga.arts@gmail.com or SMS Isay at 0905 334 9617.

Better late than never. Takits!
