As a simple way of thanking Anabel for her music and words,I'd just like to post Poch Concepcion's online article plus the gig schedules below....

Band vocalist succumbs to brain aneurysm

MANILA, Philippines—A female band vocalist succumbed to brain aneurysm Saturday.

Anabel Bosch, lead singer of such bands as Elektrikcoolaid, Spy and Analog and backup vocalist of Tropical Depression, passed away 10 days after she was rushed to the Makati Medical Center. On New Year’s Eve, Bosch complained of a severe headache and was vomiting before she was brought to the Makati hospital.

Doctors diagnosed brain aneurysm and recommended immediate surgery. Bosch slipped into a coma after the operation and never recovered. She died early Saturday morning in a hospital private room. She was 32.

Bosch is survived by her husband Jamie Wilson and daughter, Mishka.

Bosch was well loved by the local rock community for her friendliness and generosity. Dozens of bands joined at least six benefit gigs to raise funds for her hospital expenses while she was confined.

Bosch was a niece of counterculture figure Pepito Bosch, whose ancestral house in Pasay City was a creative refuge of bands such as Cocojam and Jun Lopito. This influenced Bosch to train her sights on a musical career. When she was in high school, Bosch was already a regular at the original Club Dredd along Timog Avenue in Quezon City.
-----------

I'm just not sure of these gigs will go on as she has gone to rest now but i hope we can savor the music and the poetry she once left us with....

BIOGRAPHY
Eric de Guia (born October 3, 1942 in Baguio City),
better known as Kidlat Tahimik, is a filmmaker,
writer, artist and actor whose films are commonly
associated through their critiques of neocolonialism
with the Third World Cinema movement.
Tahimik studied at the University of Pennsylvania' s
Wharton School of Business, earned a Master in
Business Administration, and worked as a researcher
for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and
Development (OECD) in Paris from 1968 to 1972 before
"returning home to be a filmmaker and ending as a
G-stringed (bahag) adopted son of Ifugao."
Tahimik grew up in Baguio City, Philippines, a summer
resort community established in the presence of
several U.S. Military bases. This experience was a
weighty influence on the themes of his films, most
notably the semi-autobiographic al Perfumed Nightmare
(1977) and Turumba (1981). That latter of these two
provides some insight into the circumstances that
brought him to Europe and into the presence of
filmmaker Werner Herzog, who along with director
Francis Ford Coppola and his American Zoetrope Films
was instrumental in helping to release Perfumed
Nightmare in America. This groundbreaking film went on
to win the international film critics jury prize at
the Berlin Film festival, as well as the Catholic Jury
Prize and the Ecumenical Jury prize.

Vipassana Meditation this April 2009

Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India 's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art Of Living.

This non-sectarian technique aims for the total eradication of mental impurities and the resultant highest happiness of full liberation. Healing, not merely the curing of diseases, but the essential healing of human suffering, is its purpose.

Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation- based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion.

The scientific laws that operate one's thoughts, feelings, judgments and sensations become clear. Through direct experience, the nature of how one grows or regresses, how one produces suffering or frees oneself from suffering is understood. Life becomes characterized by increased awareness, non-delusion, self-control and peace.

A 10-day residential course of instruction is an opportunity to learn this technique and experience the benefits of a period of intensive meditation.

DATE: APRIL 1-12, 2009

LOCATION: Sico Farm, Dasmarinas, Cavite

By tradition, Vipassana meditation courses are supported solely by voluntary contributions. Neither the teachers nor the organizers receive any remuneration for their services. Fats and Sugar

You need some fat in your diet because it provides your body with lots of energy, helps it to absorb some vitamins, and provides essential fatty acids, such as omega-3 and omega-6. But it is important to eat the right types, such as polyunsaturated and monounsaturated, and to try and avoid saturated and trans fats.

Unhealthy fats

Saturated and trans fats are generally solid at room temperature and are primarily from animal sources (except fish). They are found in lard, butter, hard margarine, cheese, whole-fat milk, and anything that contains these ingredients, such as cakes, chocolate, cookies, pies, and pastries. Saturated fat is also the white fat you can see on red meat and underneath poultry skin. The less saturated fat you eat, the better it is for your health—a high fat intake has been linked with an increased risk of coronary heart disease.

Healthy fats

Unsaturated fats—polyunsaturated and monounsaturated—are usually liquid at room temperature. They are a much healthier alternative to saturated fat, helping to fuel the body, transport nutrients around the body, and also to protect your heart.
Unsaturated fats generally come from vegetable sources (and some fish). These sources include vegetable oils such as sesame, sunflower, soy, and olive; plus nuts, seeds, avocadoes, and oily fish, such as mackerel, sardines, and salmon. However, although these fats are healthy you only need a small amount to get the
health benefits you need.

Some simple ways to cut down on unhealthy fats

  • Snack on unsalted nuts and seeds instead of cookies and chips.
  • Spread mashed avocado or hummus on toast, instead of butter.
  • Choose oily fish instead of breaded and fried fish.
  • For a change, mash olive oil into potatoes instead of butter.
  • Drizzle olive oil and lemon juice over salads in place of
    creamy salad dressings.
  • Nibble fresh or dried fruit rather than cookies and chocolate.
  • Trim any visible fat off meat and poultry.
  • Buy lean cuts of meat.
  • Ditch the frying pan—try poaching, steaming, broiling,
    or baking.
  • Swap whole-fat milk for low-fat or fat-free alternatives.
  • If you use lard, butter, or margarine, switch to plant-based oils and low-fat spreads.
